Melissa and Rock Jones

Melissa and Rock Jones flank The Battling Bishop.

As we enter the final year of Rock’s presidency, we are reflecting on the past 15 years and the many things that make Ohio Wesleyan so special, including the generosity of alumni, families, and friends. Melissa and I have taken the time to consider the important place OWU has taken in our lives and our appreciation for the mission of this university. Thus, in addition to our current giving to benefit students today, we chose to include Ohio Wesleyan in our estate plan.

Estate gifts empower the future of a university—they can provide innovative experiences for future generations of students and ensure that the university continues in perpetuity, providing an environment where all students may thrive.

In particular, unrestricted estate gifts allow the university to address unexpected challenges, such as those we’ve encountered with the pandemic. With constant changes in the college landscape—and our world—it is the flexibility and long-range support provided by estate gifts that allow universities to adapt and continue the mission of providing life-changing, liberal arts education into the future.

We are grateful for the many generous alumni and friends who advocate for, cheer on, and propel this institution forward. It is not every university president who enjoys the strength of such a generous and loyal alumni network.
